Realists?

A dark cloud descends on the west
The east has no sense of sorrow, lose or pain for its fellow brothers
The beast of Britain rises out of its cave and tells us all we are not one
Violence and chaos will consume the streets
Friends and families will be torn apart
This country will die on its back
Fighters for peace will surely be forgotten
Their images covered in excrement, bile and puss
The ‘only’ choice is most definitely not the right choice
There’s no freedom of speech when there’s talk of hate
The only colour that truly matters is the colour of blood

Those Last Seconds

My questions are never asked
My mind not spoken for
Lies leak out of a box
Mesmerized sheep nod along
Sex takes over truth
Death floats down from above
While ovals turn into cubes
Powerless preachers stop and stare
The smart cheer as they create tombs
Have we not moved on?
Are you pleased with your decisions?
I guess I’ll just cremate instead

Unsung Heroes

1. Jeffrey Lewis:
In my eyes the best singer/songwriter/one man/one guitar greats since Dylan.

2. Bill Hicks:
Not only one of THE best comedians that ever will live, but also the best philosopher that ever will. It's just a shame he didn't have a chance to leave more material behind.

3. Jeffrey Brown:
Every piece of work he's produced so far has somehow managed to tap into every thought that's ever gone through my head. Truly I am not alone

4. Daniel Johnston:
Just like Jeffrey Lewis, not just another great musician but also the one of the greatest souls we’ll ever know. Living prove that drugs ARE bad.

5. Paul Giamatti:
This actor for some unknown reason is brilliant in everything he’s been in. I personally feel he will be the only guy to pull off Bill Hicks if ever they made a film, god forbid.

6. Dead Leaves:
An absolutely amazing Manga film, definitely in the same league as Akira, Perfect Blue, My Neighbour Totoro and Ghost in the Shell.

7. Monkey Dust:
Only on here because, come on! BBC pull your finger out and release the rest, stop telling us what we can and can not watch. Look what you did to Dennis The Menace. Weirdo's.

8. Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job!:
Just because it’s funny as hell, teaches us all that every now and then we just enjoy a joint, because why not, you don’t have to smoke it all the time, and come on these guys know what they’re doing.

9. Deerhunter:
Most definitely one of the best bands going today. A brilliant twist on shoe gaze, ambient, pre 90’s indie music (the good indie music). Great band to see live.

10. Charles Chaplin:
I could go on and on about how much love and respect I have for this legendary clown. Every movie he made was just beautifully crafted and perfectly unique in it’s own way. The sad fact is, it’s very hard to get a hold of his films now. Why I have no idea, I mean you can still get a hold of the Laurel & Hardy collection, so why not his?

All the president's men.

After watching the classic story about Woodward and Bernstein cracking the case of the Watergate scandal I've come to realise how journalism today has really shied away from its true roots. They just don't make 'em like they use to, and if they do they certainly aren't getting their voices heard. Take me for example. Here I am writing about how angry I am that journalism today has become this twisted hybrid of bullshit facts and lustful imagery, and yet I won't get heard. Who in this day and age reads a nobodies blog and takes it seriously. I mean I understand the value of the Internet but it has so many flaws. Too many flaws.
Its stories like "all the president's men" that make me feel the way I feel and do what I want to do. How I'll get there, university, hopefully. Whether I'll get heard, well only time will tell.
I'm also very interested to see why no-one has yet asked George Bush if he's up for a confrontation like David Frost did with Richard Nixon. I mean of course Nixon was flawed but you don't get a more flawed politician than one George W. Bush. Need I say more?

ATP

I remember it like it was yesterday. A young couple with nothing in mind or in sight apart from a journey to the beach for the weekend to take in all the alternative music nature had to offer. God himself couldn't have dreamt up such a perfect break...well maybe Jesus.
Anyway during that weekend all we had was tea-bags, alcohol, cannabis, pot noodle's, mandy and check list of brilliant bands to see.
That year we must have seen The Breeders, Throwing Muses, Bon Iver, Kimya Dawson, Pit Er Pat, Deerhunter, Gang Of Four, The Holloys, Distortion Felix, Times New Viking, Melt Banana, and many more but my memory is a bit fuzzy, i wonder why.
Has to be said, next to Oya festival last year, this was a blast of a weekend.
The room was fine, but the choice of TV listings was brilliant yet bizarre. A combination of serious art documentaries to twisted movie selection's such as Eraserhead and then all the way to Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! This is definitely the future for Television everywhere. Then i might actually watch TV apart from Come Dine With Me. Classic reality TV, horrible yet you love it and you can't tear your face away for an instance.
Next year good ol' Matt Groening is curating ATP no doubt Daniel Johnston will be playing. Although i do hope no more good bands are lined up because that will just drive me nuts. It's one of the many faults with not having a job.
I would go on more about ATP but I'm a wee bit too drunk so I won't go on.

Roger Rabbit and Cloverfield

I'm still not sure what to make of Cloverfield. Seems like an interesting enough story. Modern day 'Blair witch' twist on the B-movie genre. And just like 'Blair Witch' Cloverfield too has annoying young character's to deal with.
Rob the main character looks and acts like he's been taken straight out of 'American Psycho' all he needs now is Christian Bale to seduce him then twat him over the head with an axe. They're all a bit too yuppyish and stupid for my liking, have to admit though I do love the childish banter about the two main character's banging each other. Grow Up..he he.
Naturally though after about 25 or so minutes later it all turns very serious and every one's scared. 9/11 time! All my god! it's panic! it's chaos! it's national monuments being destroyed!! it's Godzilla's teen aged daughter!!
I guess the main reason I'm not so sure of this movie is because it's one of those films you can only see on the big screen.
God i need a big HD screen like my friend Andrew. I suddenly discovered the beauty of Blu-Ray when i watched Dark Knight. Never has a man in tight black leather pants looked so good.
Back to Cloverfield however it doe's seem to share a similar technique with 'Shaun Of The Dead', all though Cloverfield has more references to the media than Shaun.
O yeah and how hot doe's Jessica Rabbit still look! Pattycake! Pattycake indeed!
